Ryoushi, Ryouko and company stop by at the rundown Onigashima High School to beat up on some delinquents. It’s good to see the group go on a mission not so flowery in design with nonsensical relationship problems that need solving. This mission involves nothing but beating hoodlums down to the ground with neko-neko gloves and a diplomatic exchange of friendly words thrown in for good measure.
Rei establishes herself as the calmer and more collected of the two, displaying cool-headedness despite the zombie doomsday scenario unfolding around them. That and she’s still able to crack a smile here and there. She’s the complete opposite of Takashi who seems to be in pessimistic mode and is overly flimsy in the decision making process. Good thing he mans up and gets things done when the circumstances call for it.
The final episode of this arc cumulates into much of nothing, leaving behind it a trail of absolute fluff. Seems like my distaste for the previous episodes carried on through this one, a feeling of disappointment is all I was left with. Guy gets girl with very little fanfare sums up these poor excuses of four episodes, everything in between of little interest and substance.
With the final Pain defeated, Naruto is still unable to justify his moral high ground, therefore seeks out Nagato to hear his story and better understand his motives.
Other than Naruto deciding it would be best for him to settle things between Nagato and himself alone, this was a fairly uneventful episode. On the other hand, Hinata seems to be doing a lot better than being near dead, so good for her, though she has managed to accomplish much of nothing so far throughout the series besides liking Naruto, and even in that regard there has been fairly minimal development between them.
Ryoushi gets a maid and under normal circumstances this would be a good predicament to be in, but our super shy hero proves otherwise.
I like the opening scene as our sunglass wearing and hooded Ryouko is sneaking out and about to retrieve a newly published girls’ romance novel out of all things. Truly something you wouldn’t expect out of her, but it opens and develops her character further since she has managed to keep up her tsundere personality in tack thus far.
