Started in May 2007, Typenights is an anime and manga blog providing commentary and reviews throughout the seasons. While mainly an episodic blog the goal is to deliver more opinionated writing more so than pure summary. I have watched anime for 10+ years and blogging is the best outlet to record and share my opinion on both the best and bottom of the barrel shows this genre has to offer.

Ratings Guide: Please don’t take the ratings too seriously, it’s all subjective. 3/5 (8.0) is my go to rating, anything lower just means it was a chore to watch. Episode rating based on the episode itself and against the standard of the series so far. Scaled to 10 in parentheses.

5.0 (10) – Excellent: Think of your own top 10!
4.5 (9.5) – Outstanding: Close to perfection.
4.0 (9.0) – Standout: Watch now.
3.5 (8.5) – Very Good: Will hold your attention.
3.0 (8.0) – Recommended: Contains interesting and entertaining material.
2.5 (7.5) – Average: Think Naruto or Bleach on a weekly basis.
2.0 (6.0) – Mediocre: Some redeeming quality present that makes the item tolerable.
1.5 (5.0) – Poor: Boring, did not hold my attention. At least it tried.
1.0 (4.0) – Terrible: Disappointing on all levels. Makes no sense and makes you question your life choices up until now.
