The last episode of this arc accumulates into much of nothing, leaving behind it a trail of absolute fluff. Seems like my distaste for the earlier episodes carried on through this one, a feeling of disappointment is all I was left with. Guy gets girl with very little fanfare sums up these poor excuses of four episodes, everything in between of little interest and substance.
Junichi is pretty much a one-note guy I never came to like. He has aspired to be nothing more and nothing less than a typical high school student. He remains as the same character throughout, his only foreseeable goal to have Haruka as his girlfriend, with nothing else to expand his character beyond that scope. He likes Haruka and eventually gets the girl of his dreams, end of story.
The ten year time jump doesn’t help much in terms of story development either, I suppose the best course of action was to skip any plot potential by skipping through ten years of it and moving on to who knows what. Sadly enough even after the jump, Junichi became even lamer.
Haruka proves equally to be as lackluster. At first I thought she was just toying with Junichi and wasn’t playing the sweet girl card for absolutely nothing. Shame on me for giving this show any ounce of credit for going above its potential, since at the end she admits to having liked Junichi the moment he confessed anyway. The klutz could have done anything and the result would have been the same.
I think what’s hurting this show the most is the lack of any sort of background development. We are given these one-dimensional characters as they are and they remain as such all the way to the end. Worse yet, all throughout there was no conflict, external or internal between the two so they could have had a stronger relationship by the time they came to like each other.
If you found the idea of Haruka’s main dilemma was that she was unable to express herself to someone she actually loved, despite probably being in many relationships beforehand, actually touching, I have no idea what to say. Boring comes to mind for one. Terrible build up would be second.
I actually found out this anime is an adaptation of a dating simulation game, having never played it I could just assume the characters were slightly more developed there, though I seriously doubt it. The male character (the one you play) is hardly the focus in these types of games, so no wonder why Junichi is so boring.
Next week I have no idea what happens. Do we just get a time reset and start off somewhere else with Junichi hitting on a new female lead?

How you can call a male lead boring who gets to kiss the school idol on the back of her knee will probably be your eternal secret :)
Also, she never admitted to have “liked him the moment he confessed” at all. She merely said that his second confession was the first one ever which actually made her happy.
Sorry man, that was a very oblivious review from a very oblivious viewer. Usually you do much better. Maybe this show simply isn’t for you.
That little instance was not boring, Junichi the character outstandingly is and really doesn’t help this lasts 4 episodes, but then again we get a reset with a new girl I might actually like.
