Hunter X Hunter – 20
Sometimes just sometimes Gon’s attitude of honorableness, innocence, or whatever you want to call it is annoying. Come on child you don’t think of excuses to dismiss your Hunter License when you were standing with a knife to your face saying you wouldn’t let your only opportunity pass by to help find your father. It’s one or the other young one, think of the end goal! Luckily Gon’s brain is still functioning after his beat down to realize there are two dudes who would be quite upset with him after all the three have gone through to get Gon’s license.
New Prince of Tennis – 07
It’s time for some slave labor to strengthen the body. In this week’s episode of New Prince of Tennis our group of losers is now under the will of their drunken coach who doesn’t mind assigning them to the most obscure of tasks for the sake of training. Worse yet Echizen and crew are stuck on the mountain with the first batch of eliminated high schoolers from way back in the beginning with their bothersome attitudes.
Hunter X Hunter – 19
It’s time for the infamous let’s watch Gon get beat up for 15 minutes until he gives up or dies trying episode. Even though this is my second time watching, I was just as emotional right along with Kurapika and Leorio observing our little hero getting the beat down of his life. Having no chance as made clear by Hanzo crippling Gon’s movement within the first seconds, watching Gon getting his brain scrambled and taking multitudes of undefended blows was just rough.
New Prince of Tennis – 06
Want to waste 20 minutes of your life? Well here you go. In an attempt to redeem the losers from the their elimination matches, they are forced to climb a mountain. Is it really that hard to stay on the courts and give people what they want to watch? Anyway, much of nothing interesting happens. Some melodrama from people here and there and unbearable filler stuffed in the middle. Let’s not even begin with that ending. Now, I’m used to the absurdness of Prince of Tennis when it comes to the different techniques players use, but the nonsense going on top of this mountain was really pushing it to the … “this is just dumb” limit.
Hunter X Hunter – 18
Sweet mercy is Gon strong, just look at him manhandle the entire group on a single breath out of that snake infested cave. Luckily Bourbon had an antidote and Gon just happened to be able to hold his breath for longer than necessary. I’ll take Gon’s luck over prolonging this segment any longer than it has to be. Good to see we are finally done with this silly island and on to the last phase.
