Ao was already 3 years old when the big Scub Burst happened and Eureka disappearing. It's been 10 years now. Eureka had to be pregnant before she fell from the sky. Not having Renton as the father would be a big blow to fans, and honestly at that point I don't know what's the point of making a sequel unless it's a character we previous know.It's okay though, the stand alone story so far has been good enough to not dwindle on the thought for too long. Just like Katara's blood bending or lightening from fire bending (who would have known ...), something super special like that. However, another scenario that comes to mind is the Loop Effect. The Eureka goes back in time(maybe 200 years or more) and sets in motion the events of E7:AO. The Events of E7:AO then lead up to and cause the events in E7. Now this is an elaborate situation but is plausible with what has been shown so far. As always though, we won't know for sure until E7:AO really gets moving.I'm going to rewatch E7 for a refresher to see if that will spark any more ideas, or at least give some more hints onto what the connection is between the two series. That would explain some of how Fleur behaves towards Ao. As for his eyes, there was almost a double meaning in the way Fleur made reference to Ao's perception.
