Ao was already 3 years old when the big Scub Burst happened and Eureka disappearing. It's been 10 years now. Eureka had to be pregnant before she fell from the sky. Not having Renton as the father would be a big blow to fans, and honestly at that point I don't know what's the point of making a sequel unless it's a character we previous know. It's okay though, the stand alone story so far has been good enough to not dwindle on the thought for too long.

There’s only a 13 year time span between when Eureka appeared and the start of the series 13 years later. If we consider the parallel universe theory do you think that they could have a character who is physically similar if not the same to renton from the original eureka 7, who in some mini-adventure falls in love with eureka, eventually make love, then they do battle with the g-monsters in the sky, and renton probably does some heroics where he sacrifices himself to save eureka, and then eureka falls out of the sky and set forth the story >_>anyways i'm mind-fucked, i haven't felt this confused about the eureka 7 story line since psalms of the planets, I'm sure that the studio that produces future episodes will soon piece everything together but seriously, i wish they would tell is in advance whether Astral ocean has anything to do with the original Eureka 7

One of the things i want to know, is who the heck is Ao’s father, what do you think could be the possible explanation? So a beloved member from whatever team probably died at some point. Well better than the girls just hating on Ao for being super awesome by destroying Secrets on his first try as a non-civilian.

Judging by Goldilocks’ horrendous performance in a span of 1 minute in this episode, no one’s doing really well fighting these things at the moment. Just like Katara's blood bending or lightening from fire bending (who would have known ...), something super special like that.

Yes the last thing Kora would want to have in her hands is to fight regular civilians who haven’t taken any of those back alley chi-blocking classes, though Amon would love that scenario, it would make Korra look terrible and a tyrant more so than Amon.

Still thinking Amon has some sort of a very very very niche form of whatever bending element of your choice. There was a perfect map of our earth in the 5th episode shown today, if the Scub Coral didn't alter it all when it disappeared, then there's something fishy. Logical explanation would be time travel or alternate universe. Whatever the case, the 5th episode didn't really help matters much in the whole where the hell is Renton question.

Yes, going back in time can be equally plausible. However, another scenario that comes to mind is the Loop Effect. The Eureka goes back in time(maybe 200 years or more) and sets in motion the events of E7:AO. The Events of E7:AO then lead up to and cause the events in E7. Now this is an elaborate situation but is plausible with what has been shown so far. As always though, we won't know for sure until E7:AO really gets moving.I'm going to rewatch E7 for a refresher to see if that will spark any more ideas, or at least give some more hints onto what the connection is between the two series.

I think the Parallel World theory is the most plausible. Basically he has the power to start a new bender vs. non-bender war.To me what was more scary than Amon itself in this ep, was the sheer number of anti-benders that actually came to the Revelation ceremony - Korra must tred carefully to stop Amon whilst keeping the sympathies of the citizens of Republic City. Lot of haters out there =P.

Hey there! =) been reading a few of your blog posts so far; short, effective and simple =). nice to get a different perspective on the new series.

While Amon’s new power may or may not be truly a can of whoop-ass (if I was a bender I think it would suck btw.. taking away such a vital aspect of a person’s being..), his role as an antagonist not only lies in his mind-bending chi block madskillz, but also his being a leader for the Equalists.

Amon is an advocate and leader for the non-benders and if the benders were to “gang-up” on him and take him out, he would become a matyr and there would be anarchy in Republic City – so it’s kind of like a political power that he has as well. That would explain some of how Fleur behaves towards Ao. As for his eyes, there was almost a double meaning in the way Fleur made reference to Ao's perception. That should play out interestingly enough.

I hadn’t really thought about Pied Piper having a third member at some point.
