Rei establishes herself as the calmer and more collected of the two, displaying cool headedness despite the zombie doomsday scenario unfolding around them. That and she’s still able to crack a smile here and there. She’s the complete opposite of Takashi who seems to be in pessimistic mode and is overly flimsy in the decision-making process. Good thing he mans up and gets things done when the circumstances call for it.

What I thought at first as a new breed of crazy horny zombie turns out nothing more than a thug gone insane by killing his own zombie infested family. He doesn’t last and is eventually left to fend for himself against an approaching zombie mob slowly trudging their way toward him, gunshot wound and all, courtesy of Takashi.

It’s quite sad Takashi and Rei just left him like that. Yes, he deserved his just punishment, but odd coming from two people who spent yesterday doing everything they could to save other people (Rei clearly didn’t care, giving him the stare down after being groped), though Takashi is probably not too happy with his actions from his closing dialogue. Maybe the zombie thug will make some sort of reappearance later on.

Not much screen time for the rest of the gang who have managed to get themselves stuck in a traffic jam of people who have managed to escape their immediate dangers and are in the process of fleeing the city also. Shido remains creepy as ever despite only appearing for 30 seconds.

I quite enjoyed the scenes of the two peacefully cruising along the desolate and eerie streets of the city with the vocal music playing in the background. This show is pretty good in establishing atmosphere, not just by relying on zombies by placing them on every street corner, but creating that sense of the unknown through choosing not to show them at all in some shots.
