Highschool of the Dead – 07

Poor Alice, though for the story’s sake we can’t have even more people join the group, especially some old guy! We have to keep the show young looking and fanservice ready! This week’s episode features little of plot advancement besides the addition of Alice, but all than makes up for it in action, crazy Kohta sniping, short shorts, and a healthy amount of fanservice.

Alice’s father dying didn’t feel contrived considering what the people in the home probably have been through and seen. The residents were justified to an extent to defend themselves regardless of what might seem to be an irrational action. From their perspective and from what we’ve seen in earlier episodes, ordinary people are killing one another with no logical reasoning, even when they are clearly not infested. Trusting anyone outside of one’s immediate circle of friends and family may prove too risky. That’s exactly what happened here, and it’s not like in their state of mind they would believe the “I have a child with me” excuse on the spot and open the door, though he was telling the truth. He did threaten to break down the door, so the homeowner’s action was provoked. They did apologize profusely with tears to a man they just stabbed, so all is forgiven I suppose?

Maneuvering on top of the brick fence to escape was a pretty ingenious idea. That and even though blatantly tacked on, Alice having to pee on Takashi’s back was just funny enough considering the scenario.
