Naruto Shippuden – 173 + 174

Naruto Shippuden - 173 + 174 - Yahiko - Konan - NagatoNaruto and Nagato come together to carry out the prophecy, a tying of different elements of the series and bringing it all together quite nicely. Nagato served as the initial catalyst with his original ideal of stopping the cycle of hate, Jiraiya believing in Nagato’s philosophy and incorporating it into his books in which Naruto would later adopt as his own, the very idea planted by Nagato but long abandoned as his life experiences had taught him it could not be done.

Nagato’s second great pain was much more involved, losing a good friend, one of great importance since he only had Yahiko and Konan in his entire life at this point. This second experience was much more touching as Nagato’s parents hardly had any development so it was hard to care for them as they were killed off. Yahiko suddenly plunging himself into Nagato’s dagger without notice didn’t really help matters either. Hell, if he only summoned that beast earlier he could have solved the problem right then and there.

Naruto’s answer to Nagato at first seemed quite cheesy but really served well in response to everything that had happened so far. Loved it when Nagato came to realize Naruto’s motivation and inspiration came from a younger and more innocent version of himself he abandoned long ago, accepting that Naruto has a better shot at carrying out his original ideal better than he ever could. Naruto shows Nagato that despite his own painful life experiences (the lost of his friend, his crappy childhood, and the annihilation of his entire village) he remains steadfast with a firm head on this shoulders to carry out Jiraiya’s legacy in the right way.

Looks like everyone is going to be brought back to life, just because the entire series wouldn’t be so fun with all the characters dead now would it.
