Naruto Shippuden – 175
The fight has been won and all the casualties of the battle have been brought back to life. Though I could have done without the flashbacks in exchange for some real content, this episode was a good ending to this fantastic arc.
Purgatory seems to exist in the magical world of Naruto Shippuden as Kakashi and his father were able to settle their issues while they had the opportunity. In doing so, both were finally able to move on.
With Nagato passing on, I feel sad for Konan as she becomes the last survivor of her group. I expected at least some tears as Yahiko and Nagato were her life, and with both gone she is all alone. Anyone else see the pattern of the female of the group outliving the guys? Same thing happened with Tsunade as she outlived both Jiraiya and Orochimaru. Anyway, I suppose entrusting Yahiko and Nagato’s shared belief unto our spiky, yellow-haired hero can keep Konan’s spirit up. I wish Konan’s character had been explored a bit more throughout this arc, but transforming into paper isn’t the most fascinating of abilities to keep one’s interest.
Though I expected it to be cheesy, I still liked the scene as the exhausted Naruto, carried on Kakashi’s back, is greeted to a roaring Konoha crowd. Finally some acceptance and respect from these people who had made his childhood miserable!
Oh no! Here come the crappy filler episodes next week?

I thought i would be cheesy too, and it kinda almost was but it was more than well earned. I Kinda felt the flashbacks were earned in this ep. with the added voice overs to show the villagers’ growing concern and respect for Naruto.
Thanks to his resurrection Kakashi is still the last surviving member of his original Team. So isn’t just the girls outliving the guys. Though I’m not sure if its explained in the anime or the manga how Rin died.
Like what I’ve seen of your reviews. Let’s hope the filler is good. For now at least it looks well animated.
Guess the connection only applies to Jiraiya’s and Nagato’s group.
