Ookami-san – 05

Ookami-sanRyoushi, Ryouko and company stop by at the rundown Onigashima High School to beat up on some delinquents. It’s good to see the group go on a mission not so flowery in design with nonsensical relationship problems that need solving. This mission involves nothing but beating hoodlums down to the ground with neko-neko gloves and a diplomatic exchange of friendly words thrown in for good measure.

The show introduces the large breasted Kibitsu Momoko who has the power to seduce and control men with her big boobs, everyone that is except Ryoushi. Asides from her infatuation with Ryouko, she’s pretty normal if you ask me. That is, when you start to compare her to every other character in the show.

There is finally some background information on the inner workings of Otogi Bank, I found it rather odd Ryoushi and company had such a luxurious building all to themselves, well now we know why. Introduced as the director of the school and in charge of Otogi Bank, Aragami Lamp, is on the surface your typical old perverted geezer. You can’t have an anime show without one of these now can you.

In the episode it is mentioned the entire city is some sort of carefully scripted-perfect-bubble, having the best of this and the best of that, Onigashima High School serving as some sort of reminder that things aren’t as pretty when they venture out of their isolated city. The show skims over it rather quickly, but I found the detail rather interesting.

Ryoushi’s previous upper cut punch appears to have been some sort of fluke, as his hit this episode couldn’t phase his enemy as it did before. His enemy was quite injured already when he delivered his previous punch, so it’s no surprise he can’t do much of anything on a healthy opponent. He really does only shine in the shadows pelting people with his sling shot. At least his relationship is developing somewhat further with Ryouko with his cheesy line at the end of the episode, so not a total lost for our male hero.

Hitsujikai Shirou seems to be very bad news for our rather cool and collected Ryouko, his presence bringing back bad memories. Going to have to go with some sort of love interest from the past.
