Ookami-san – 07
This episode had the potential to suck, I’m glad it didn’t as the minor inconvenience of Jin and Ami’s date was quickly pushed to the side for some real character development.
I’m sorry but my mind is blown to the fact this whole incident between Ryouko and Shirou happened in middle school. Assault at 13 years old, are you kidding me? Can we please bump the ages up a bit so I don’t have to take what essentially is a preteen drama seriously?
I guess that’s not possible, we can’t have Ringo as a loli at 18 years old now can we? I’ll just ignore this issue and make-believe everyone is in college or something. With that, the big ho-hum regarding Ryouko’s past is revealed, something of which that wasn’t even near my radar of possibilities. I mean this show is pretty innocent and all, so I had no inclination to lean towards that direction.
I actually liked the date between amnesia Ryouko and Ryoushi. Ryoushi finally lived in a moment of bliss and we got to see a whole other side of Ryouko that’s usually reserved to when nobody is around. It’s good she actually retained all her memories of her date, much better than the alternative of her forgetting everything and negating all the new development between Ryoushi and her.
As mentioned before in previous posts, Ryoushi usually has an annoying habit of blurting out some ridiculously cheesy line at the end of each episode, but I loved his “I’m going to hunt you” line at Shirou. So good! Too bad he quickly reverts into a weak, weak little man when everything settles back to normal.
Jeez, Shirou has a set of man-fingers on him doesn’t he, being able to cut the rubber band on Ryoushi’s sling shot.
