Ookami-san – 09
Hinted back in episode six as the problem she has run away from, the story finally delves into Ringo’s dilemma. With much disappointment, it’s nowhere as compelling as Ryouko’s situation since well, Ringo did nothing to cause it, besides being born I suppose. I do understand Ringo’s guilt for her mother’s actions in which she partially blames herself, as she must feel terrible in kicking her half-sister out of the mansion and separating a daughter from her father.
I’m more surprised the story didn’t take the opposite direction with Shirayuki Himeno having some resentment of her own towards Ringo and her mother. Himeno is just too kind of a person and too mature of a big sister to hold a grudge, so good for her. Taking care of a bunch of kids leaves no time to dwell on the matter anyway. I’m more curious why Himeno did not approach Ringo about it earlier. She probably did not know Ringo was her half-sister then perhaps?
Ookami-san despite having so-so episodes at times does have a good track for ending them on a happy note, this time Himeno awarded a scholarship thanks to Ringo selling herself to the perverted Director of the school. She is like 16 right?
Finally, the Prince in Shining Armor Ryoushi setting up for a kiss only for Ryouko to wake up from her dream shortly after is of notable mention. No! I still can’t picture these two together just yet.
